Christian Jon Kopacsi

Christian Jon Kopacsi was born to Richard and Dixie Kopacsi August 11,1976. Our beloved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly at home Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the age of 46. He was the most, generous, kind, loving, sarcastic, hilarious man you could ever meet. He knew more trivia than anyone should and was loved by everyone that met him. He was a huge Star Wars fan and loved anything to do with comics books. He had an amazing career in cyber security spanning almost 30 years. He was currently the Director of Cybersecurity and CISO at DT Midstream in Detroit. 

He had many amazing accomplishments including finishing the Murph challenge every year to support soldiers who have died in battle. He had a Bachelors of Information Assurance from Davenport University and a Masters of Information Security Management from Fort Hays State University. But his most amazing accomplishment was being the best husband anyone could ask for. He met his wife in 1st grade and told his mom that he “liked” her when he was in third grade. He made a wish on a shooting star in 5th grade that he would get to marry her and that wish came true October 23, 1999 when he married the love of his life Joey. He made every day of their life amazing by making her laugh constantly and supporting her through both good and bad times.

Christian is survived by his wife Joey, their dogs Ellie and Uma, his mother Dixie, sisters Krissy (Todd) Schroyer, Tina (Brandt) Blair, Tara Cooper, in-laws Anne Day, Jennifer (Ron) Wood, Jeffrey (Erica) Day and 22 nieces and nephews along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Christian was predeceased by his father Richard J. Kopacsi and his dogs Justice and Mickey.
