Sue Ann (Kerby) Arntson passed away on September 17,2023 following a brief illness. Sue Ann was born on September 27, 1939 in Lansing, Michigan to parents Harland and Donna Kerby.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years Gary Arntson; children Randy (Kristine) Arntson, Jodie (Neil) Miller, Jeffrey (Susan) Arntson; grandchildren Kara Cole, Ashley (Russ) Thompson, Mallory Arntson, Rachael (Najee Currie) Arntson, Joshua (Kathryn) Arntson, Hannah Miller, Marissa (Joshua) Jose, Stephen Miller, Jacob (Dawson Bishop) Arntson.17 great grandchildren (2 deceased). Also surviving are her siblings; James (Natalie) Kerby, M.D., Cindy (Iggy) Konrad; in-laws Mike (Jane) Arntson, Marsha Brandell and Elizabeth Arntson and many nieces and nephews.
Sue Ann was the dancing queen of the family and was introduced to her life sweetheart, Gary, at a city-wide dance at the Lansing Civic Center in 1956.
Gary and Sue were married April 6, 1957 and were everything to each other for the next 66 years. Their love was the inspiration for the ever expanding, loving and welcoming family they created.
She was also a true sports fanatic! ALL SPORTS, but particularly those played by her kids and grand kids and anything Michigan State. Family vacations to Disney and Big Star Lake were regular events, but the place that we all hold dear is Harbor Springs, Michigan where the entire family (extended cousins included) gathers every year for a week in the summer. Some of Sue Ann’s favorite treats come from there: Kilwin’s Streakers (carmel/pecans), raspberry sorbetto, and Julierette’s lemon coke.
Sue Ann also had several friends and cousins that she kept in touch with for years. She was information central for them as well as her family. We will all miss her checking in to “catch up” and her one-of-a-kind laugh.
Graveside service only at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.cremationyourway.com.
